What is Job Loss Benefit

What is a Voucher?

It is a benefit (SJDB) which is non-transferrable and is to be used for education related retraining and or skill enhancement purpose. It can be used to pay for education, counseling fees and or vocational training services. DV Career Counseling Services works closely with both the client and administration throughout the entire process to ensure an efficient with effective outcome.

Benefits are available if you are unable to return to your job

The voucher can range from $4,000 to $10,000 depending on the level of your permanent disability and your date of injury.

You may qualify if each of the following is met:

  • Your injury results in permanent disability.
  • You are unable to return to work within 60 days after the last payment of temporary disability.
  • Your employer does not offer modified or alternative work duties.

Voucher Eligibility

Following your industrial injury, you will receive treatment until your condition reaches maximum medical improvement. If you cannot return to you usual and customary occupation, your employer may offer you modified or alternate work within your medical capabilities. If you do not return to work for your pre-injury employer, you will be eligible for a retraining voucher called the Supplemental Job Displacement Benefit (SJDB). This benefit can be used for educational retraining and vocational counseling services. There are no out of pocket expenses for DV Career Counseling services since all fees are taken directly from the retraining voucher.
